Rate Schedule 4J - Commercial

Availability

Available for customers located on or near Cooperatives lines for all types of usage, subject to the established rules and regulations of the Cooperative.

Type of Service

Single-phase, and three-phase where available, at Cooperative’s available secondary voltages.  Customer shall be responsible for providing protection from single-phasing of three-phase loads. 

Monthly Rate

Monthly Service Charge                                   $28.40

Plus energy charges of:

For KWH’s not greater than 75 hours times the billing demand:

         13.403 cents per KWH for first 1,500 KWH's; plus

         16.403 cents per KWH for the next 1,500 KWH's; plus

          15.320 cents per KWH for excess KWH’s

For all KWH’s in excess of 75 hours and not greater than 300 hours times the billing demand:

         10.205 cents per KWH for first 15,000 KWH’s; plus

          9.145 cents per KWH for excess KWH’s

For all KWH’s in excess of 300 hours times the billing demand:

         7.679 cents per KWH for all KWH’s

Conditions of Service

  • Both power and lighting shall be billed at the foregoing rate.
  • All wiring, poles, lines and other electrical equipment beyond the metering point shall be considered the distribution system of the customer and shall be furnished and maintained by the customer.

Minimum Charges

The minimum monthly charge shall be the highest of the following charges:

  • The minimum monthly charge specified in the contract for service.
  • A charge of $0.75 per KVA of installed transformer capacity.
  • The monthly service charge plus $6.30 per Kw of billing demand.

Determination of billing demand

The billing demand shall be the maximum kilowatt established by the customer for any fifteen (15) consecutive minutes during the month for which the bill is rendered, as indicated or recorded by a demand meter, but it shall not be less than 75 % of the maximum demand established at any time during the preceding 11 months.  The Cooperative may, at it’s option, install a KVA meter or other appropriate meter to determine KVA and base the KW requirement on 90% of the KVA requirement so metered.

Extension of Facilities

In cases where it is necessary to extend or reinforce distribution lines, service will be furnished only under the following conditions:

         

  • The customer shall give satisfactory assurance supported by a written agreement as to the character, amount and duration of the business offered.

  • The customer shall guarantee minimum monthly revenue not less than 1/60th of the estimated additional investment required to extend service.  This shall include the additional cost of meters, transformers, and any additions to or alterations of lines and equipment necessary to make service available.  Minimum charges for service shall be based on the additional investment only when this results in greater charges than those based upon the rate schedule minimum herein before provided.

Temporary Service

Temporary service shall be supplied in accordance with the foregoing rate except that the customer shall pay, in addition to the foregoing charges, the total cost of connecting and disconnecting services less the value of materials returned to stock.  A deposit, in advance, may be required of the full amount of the estimated bill for service, including the cost of connection and disconnection.

Average Delivered Power Cost

To the total of the above charges for electric service under this rate schedule, there shall be added or subtracted an amount determined in accordance with the Association's Power Cost Adjustment Rider.  A copy of the Power Cost Adjustment Rider is available at any office of the Association.

Tax Expense Adjustment

To the total of the above charges for electric service under this rate schedule, there shall be added or subtracted an amount determined in accordance with the Association's Tax Expense Adjustment Rider.  A copy of the Tax Expense Adjustment Rider is available at any office of the Association.

Tax Clause

To the total of all charges for electric service under this rate schedule shall be added the applicable existing Mississippi State and municipal sales taxes.

Hurricane Katrina Cost Recovery

To the total of the above charges for electric service under this rate schedule, there shall be added an amount as determined in accordance with the Association’s Hurricane Katrina Cost Recovery Rider. This monthly charge is for the collection of the net expenses incurred due to Hurricane Katrina, along with the associated interest cost.  This charge will continue to be collected until all related expenses have been collected.

Terms of Payment

The above rates are net and payable within twenty-one (21) days from date of the bill.
